A VERY SPECIAL,
VERY SMALL RELEASE.
LOCHINDAAL, DISTILLED AT BRUICHLADDICH ON ISLAY, MATURED 13 YEARS IN A SINGLE FIRST FILL BOURBON BARREL.
“This was never going to be easy to release. We were lucky in that James had the foresight and love of Bruichladdich from an early age. This single cask he bought into at it’s birth, with several whisky loving friends. Our Blind Summit bottling represents his one eighth of the cask, therefore this release was only ever going to be 36 bottles at 50%. A rarity that we offered to our supportive community of bars and restaurants around Leith and Edinburgh.
We wanted to put out an Islay in our inaugural release and what a better way to kick things off than with this heavily peated whisky.
Bruichladdich holds a very special place in our hearts. It has been one of the most creative distilleries in terms of pushing organic and site specific barley distilled spirit, while also experimenting with wine cask finishes from a real place of wine knowledge, with two of it’s previous directors having been wine merchants.
Lochindaal is both the name of for the stretch of sea-loch that sits under the witches chin on Islay, and also a heavily peated single malt distilled at Bruichladdich for a short amount of time around 13 years ago. The whiskies represent both a place and a time in a distilleries history.”
