Independent whisky

bottlers & blenders

LAUNCHED 2023. BASED IN LEITH.

SUPER SMALL, VERY INDEPENDENT. A HOME FOR CREATIVE, HANDS-ON WHISKYMAKING.

We are two friends based in Leith making whisky. We release limited outturns of single cask Scotch whiskies and blended malts. Everything from tasting and sourcing to bottling and delivery is done by the two of us.

Now in our third year, we have released over 50 whiskies. Every one is limited, every one features original commissioned artwork from a local artist. We don't release much. When it's gone, it's gone.

LATEST RELEASE

OUTTURN IX

FOUR SHERRY CASKS. ONE WINE BARRIQUE.
Artwork by Ryan Marinello.

  • Bottle of Glen Elgin 11 year old whisky with a vibrant yellow label.

    GLEN ELGIN 11

Re-racked for one year into a Napa Valley Chardonnay barrique, where it took on layers of almond, yellow fruit and ginger.

  • A glass bottle of liquid with a black cap, containing an orange liquid, with a mountain landscape on the label, and the mountain landscape is also on the background.

    DALMUNACH 7

This provided the mid-palate concentration we felt the cask lacked, and gave a little more aromatic lift, it’s a very complex and inviting dram.

  • Glitched image of a bottle of whisky with a unique scottish artist painted label, containing a reddish-brown liquid, with a background of distorted colorful horizontal lines.

    GLEN GARIOCH 18

The second oldest whisky in this Outturn. First seventeen years in one Oloroso cask, then re-racked into another for the final year.

  • A bottle of whiskey with a black cap, a white label with a warning symbol, and a brown liquid inside. The bottle has an abstract, distorted reflection of a natural landscape with water and mountains.

    ISLE OF JURA 20

A single cask of Isle of Jura, twenty years in a refill Oloroso sherry butt. A shy dram at first, it opens with time and rewards patience.

LOCHEND BLEND 4

A lovely base from a cask of Glen Moray we came across, with the addition of some Glenrothes and familiar favourites Highland Park, Tomintoul and Ledaig.

It’s the result of the Lochend Blend’s success and us specifically looking for quality blending ingredients. It’s been really fun growing the blending stock and planning this fourth instalment.

A slightly higher bottle count than previous releases, but that’s all of it until 2027.

NOSE

Baked apples and plump stone fruit, with toasted hazelnuts, milk chocolate and a fresh herbaceous lift.

Palate

Juicy and generous. Toffee apples, milk chocolate buttons, and apple pie over gently charred oak. Classic sherry cask character with real balance.

Finish

Fleshy and comfortable, more juicy apple, then warming through to a gentle peppery send-off.
